Master Gardener State Office Continuing Education Opportunities
In order to maintain the status of Active Master Gardener, Master Gardener volunteers must complete at least 10 hours of continuing education each year. Seed Saving Workshop
When: Friday, October 17th from 10:00-1:00 PM
Where: Maryland State Fairgrounds (2200 York Rd, Timonium, MD)- Mosner Building
Join us for a seed-saving volunteer day in the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardener Learning Garden at the State Fairgrounds! Jon Traunfeld, UME Food & Community Gardening specialist, will give seed saving instruction. We will be packing seeds harvested from the garden to hand out at next year's State Fair. All materials will be provided. Please bring a water bottle and lunch for yourself. Curious about microgreens? These tiny greens pack a big punch when it comes to flavor and nutrition! In this session, you’ll learn how easy it is to grow your own microgreens and get tips on safely harvesting and enjoying them. Whether you’re looking to add a fresh touch to your meals or explore a fun new gardening project, this talk will give you the know-how to get started.
