Keep fallen tree leaves for wildlife benefit and as a natural source of mulch and nutrients. Do not prune flowering shrubs now, and don't be alarmed if pine trees shed some yellow or brown needles this season. Wasps are more active, seeking sources of sugar. Some leafy greens can be sown now, but aim to finish lawn seeding by mid-month so the new grass has time to establish.
