Identify and Manage Indoor Insects

Indian meal moth is one of the most common pantry pests. 

Bed bugs are small, brown insects that feed solely on the blood of animals, including humans.

Spiders are general predators, feeding on a wide range of prey (insects, other spiders, etc.). They are beneficial to people because they feed on harmful insects.

Springtails primarily feed on algae, fungi, pollen, and decaying organic matter. They may be a nuisance in bathrooms, kitchens, and basements, but they do not bite or cause damage.

Drain flies in the home are found primarily in rooms or areas where there are drains - kitchens, bathrooms, and basements near floor drains.

The cat flea is the most common flea encountered in homes. It survives on both dogs and cats and will bite humans.

Bird mites, also known as northern fowl mites, are parasites of birds and domestic fowl.

Silverfish and firebrats are found outdoors but indoors they can become pests because they feed on starchy substances as well as book bindings, dry foods, flour, bits of cloth, or paper.
